A Merry Christmas In Prague

Before planning this leg of the trip, our plans to Morocco fell through. I was so sad that we couldn't be riding camels in the Sahara desert like three wise men. So I wanted to make sure that our new Christmas plans would make up for our loss! I researched all the top Christmas markets in Europe and we hit almost all the best spots. Prague was the top of the list!

So we left Slovakia, not much to say about it we pretty much slept there for the night and visited a castle. It was windy and cold while visiting the castle. But at least we stopped to say we've been. Country counted!

Once entering Czechia, there were lots of billboards painted like the Czechian flag. It was cool at first, but it never ended. Every few yards, there was another one. A bit overkill! On our drive, I interview prepped Alastair. I went through the list of questions and then made up my own. It was fun!

We got to our Airbnb, a cute apartment with lots of charm! We also went to the grocery store to stock up on food because they had such a cute kitchen. We then made our way to the metro to get ourselves to the old town. The metro stations were quite impressive, each stop unique. By the time we got there, Emre had fallen asleep in the stroller. We took our time walking around the Christmas market and eating these tasty pastries that we're hollowed out and had Nutella on the inside and cinnamon sugar on the outside. We also had more street food. Pretty much the same kinds of market food but with more sauerkraut. There was this creepy guy dressed up, like Krampus. I had him take a picture next to Emre while he was sleeping. I don't know what, but Emre is is super interested in stories about Krampus. I just make up these stories about naughty kids who get sntached by their toes and get dragged out onto the street by Krampus. It's so silly but emre loves it. And now he has evidence that krampus was close by!

The next day, we explored as much of Prague as possible. We took a bus up to a park on the hill to see the rooftop views. I wish they had better views but there were lots of trees that were hard to see past. We had a meltdown from emre which was not fun, but we eventually regrouped and everything was fine. We walked through the park and made our way to the river. There's a little park right on the river, so we went and took lots of pictures. Emre loved it as well, throwing whatever he could get his hands on to throw into it. We walked a lot that day and we eventually made our way back to the old town. As night fell, we made our way up to the castle, and that had great views of the city. Too bad we wasted time at the park in the morning! Oh well! A wonderful Christmas Eve spent in Prague. This is one place I'd love to return to!
