Hitting the Trails in Hell

Once Alastair saw that Hell, Michigan was only half an hour away, and that it had loads of hiking trails to explore, our Saturday plans made themselves. We escaped the rain of Ann Arbor and headed a little north-west, and found ourselves in the quiet, small town of Hell. A load of wooded trails connected dozens of lakes and ponds, and we must have hiked a good few miles. It was really cool because the types of trees differed along different sections of the trail, and the weather was perfect for us. Not too hot, not cold at all.

Emre handled the hike like a champ. He loves trees, and spent the first part of the hike staring at the leaves and being really curious, before falling asleep in his carrier. So cute. I'm so glad that Lain and I are taking Emre out to experience things, especially nature, even if it does mean having to change his diapers on the back of the car and feeding him in the back seat!

Michigan has a lot of lakes, and the area that we were exploring had many. Next time we visit (and we definitely will) we are going to rent a row boat and venture out on the water! That will be fun!

The last thing we did was spend a little time in the town of Hell. They had a little ice cream shop and a gift shop, and there was lots of people on motorbikes that stopped through. The store looked like Halloween, pretty fun. We will have to come back in October!
