Memorial Day Spontaneity

We try to be fairly flexible and spontaneous with our trips. Memorial Day weekend was one of those trips. We've rarely had some free time, so we took this chance and went camping. We grabbed whatever meat we had in our fridge, snatched our camping gear, and headed out with the Jankowski crew. The only thing we forgot was mosquito repellent, and we got eaten alive! Chris' arm was bit up that it looked like a momma pig's belly! We were so thankful to find a pretty sweet campsite with a wonderful park ranger who let us borrow his supply of repellent.

After unloading our stuff, we hiked down to Alastair's favorite fishing spot. We saw marmots and snakes, but had no luck in catching a fish. Maybe next time!

We had the best meal for dinner. Forget the traditional roasting of hot dogs; London broil is where it's at! We also had s'mores with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, the best! Even though it rained that night, it was still fun to see the tent light up during each strike of lightning, and to hear the rumblings of thunder.  If only that were the only thing that kept us up. There were a symphony of snorers all night long. Poor Alastair, just a little bit of snoring will keep that guy up!

Right when we woke up, we packed everything up, took a quick trip to the falls, and drove home.
