Crossed the Golden Gate? Yes.

Let's be honest. We aren't too great at packing. Well, maybe it's not that we aren't good at it, but we just couldn't be bothered to spend our last Saturday in California doing it. That is what Monday is for. Instead, we thought it necessary to do something that we had never done, and walking across the Golden Gate Bridge seemed like a great idea. What a great decision it was, especially since we avoided paying for any parking the WHOLE day (we actually have a knack for finding free parking in San Francisco).

If you have never walked across the Golden Gate Bridge before (and this may or may not apply to all large bridges), you should know that the wind coming off the water can get quite nippy, and so we were certainly glad that we brought our sweatshirts. And don't even bother making your hair all perfect before you go, it wont last. But one thing is for sure, we were in awe of how cool the bridge was, and had such a great time just chatting and soaking in the view of the bay and the city as we walked the four miles across and back.

For a very short while we entertained the idea of going to Chinatown for some food, but then we remembered that we are about to spend the rest of the year over there, and went for some Clam Chowder at Boudin Bakery instead. Another good choice.

After our delicious food and a Cream Soda and Root Beer for Alastair and Laleinia respectively, we returned to Modesto to watch Katniss and Peter fight it out in the Hunger Games for the second time. At least the third good decision of the day.

Well, as far as blogging goes, goodbye California for now. I am sure we will be back soon.
