Sleepless in Seattle

To start the year off right, Alastair and Laleinia boarded a plane to experience their first flight together. Looking out the window and enjoying a pack of assorted nuts, they were headed to Seattle for an unplanned adventure. Nothing was planned, just spontaneous fun. And fun they did have!

The duo decided to head on over to the popular market, Pike's Public Market. The market was filled with the morning catch of crab, lobster, and various types of fish. All along the market were venues with artists selling their work, printed t-shirts, and other trinkets one could only imagine. In all the entryways, musicians were serenading the shoppers with their guitars, accordions, banjos, pianos, and harmonious voices. The public market was a haven for those who appreciate the finer things in life; fish and chips and kababs.

The saying goes, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do." And when in Seattle, do as the locals do; grab a hot drink and keep warm! Alastair and Laleinia walked on over to the first Starbucks and grabbed a hot chocolate and hot cider. By the time their drinks were finished, they had reached the Space Needle! They walked around the tall structure and snapped a few photos, until...rain. While heading back to their car, Alastair thought of a brilliant idea; drive to Vancouver that night. The two hopped into the car and crossed the border into Canada!

By the time they arrived into Vancouver, all the shops were closed. That didn't damper their plans because they enjoyed driving around the city and admiring all the lights. Vancouver is still spectacular at night!
The next morning they drove around Vancouver some more and admired the city in the day; still spectacular.

The last day of their trip was spent in Seattle, once again. Alastair and Laleinia visited the Fremont Troll. They enjoyed climbing, doing cart wheels, and dancing around the big creature. The troll was a site that everyone should visit; a gem found under a bridge. They walked around Pike's Market one last time and headed back to the airport for their departure. As they left in their plane, they admired the view of the earth below filled with twinkling lights from the cities; truly breathtaking! The trip was spontaneously fun and spontaneously perfect!
